Cat God Video Shoot!!
There is only one live-action scene in my animation: the establishing shot of Cat Land, complete with beach, ferris wheel, knit ocean, and cat gods doing all the manual labor...
My motto, when creating this shot was "What Would A Third Grader Do?" -- I did not want green screening or any extensive post-effects, just a low-fi backdrop and ocean setting. If you you see people's shadows, it's ok - all a part of the magic !
This shot took a total of six people to complete: one person behind the camera, one person turning the ferris wheel, two gods turning the ocean, and two more people holding up the glittery blue ocean backdrop!

Cat-Goddamn!
I asked my most amazing friend Adri Wichert to knit me some Cat God Arms for the only live-action shot in Cat Tunnel: the beach scene. One Cat God operates the ferris wheel while two others turn the ocean with their mighty magical hands.
She crocheted three pairs of mittens, each on looking like a different color cat: grey and white striped, orange and white blotchy, and a tortoiseshell!
Adri also took some awesome photos, documenting her work:
Adri has a new Etsy store, selling her crazy crochet creations called Warm Storm. Check it out!
